Recently, I have been reaching for my Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation. This foundation is on the pricey end but it is well-worth the money, in my opinion. I came across this powder foundation over the summer. It is a full-coverage foundation that truly does give your skin an airbrushed appearance. I purchased this foundation in the shade light-medium beige, one of the 11 shade options. I ordered this foundation from their website and it retails for $36.
This powder is created with natural ingredients: Amazonian clay (long wear), tourmaline (gemstone: energizes skin for a brighter complexion), pearl powder (anti-inflammatory properties), and Camellia leaf extract (antioxidant: fights free radials and aids in skin cell repair). The Amazonian clay makes the powder long-wearing; it claims to last up to 12 hours. I usually wear my makeup for eight or nine hours, at most, so I cannot verify their claim. I can say that it does wear well on my skin throughout the day, even in the heat. It is also supposedly waterproof and will give you a youthful complexion. I haven’t jumped in a lake while wearing this foundation but with our recent heatwave, my sweat has not removed this powder over the course of the day. As for a youthful complexion, I have noticed a radiance and smoothness to my skin while wearing this powder. It isn’t magic but I do notice some subtle differences.
The packaging is created to work best with the airbuki bamboo powder foundation brush, which retails for $26 and can be purchased here. The foundation container has a mesh center; using the airbuki brush, you must lightly press on the mesh. This will result in the perfect amount of powder being dispensed onto your brush. Then, I apply the powder in circular motions across my skin. I purchased the brush for the easiest application of the powder and I believe that the brush is well-worth my investment.
Overall, I highly recommend this product. It is a great, long-wearing powder and I feel comfortable leaving it on my skin all day. I have also discussed this product in a “Products Worth The Hype: High End Edition” video on my YouTube channel. If you are interested in watching that video, please click here.
Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?
