If you’ve never heard of Galentine’s Day then you clearly aren’t a true Parks and Recreation fan. This holiday was invented by Leslie Knope (aka Amy Poehler) and is celebrated with your gal pals the day before Valentine’s Day. In the show, Amy’s character throws an annual “Galentine’s Day” party for her female friends (Season 2, episode 16–I know you were wondering).
This year my best friend and I are going to dinner and seeing Fifty Shades of Grey for our friend date. Yes, we bought our tickets last month; you can never be too prepared. Galentine’s Day is a fun day in my eyes. It is a great way to celebrate your girlfriends and an excuse for a girls night out. My best friend and I always give each other a little gift on this day. This year I am giving her the Chalk Talk Mug (last item) and filling it with hazelnut coffee so she can start her mornings off right!
Do you celebrate Galentine’s Day? If so, what are your plans?
