Over the summer I begged my friend Rita to send me Bioderma. My most sought after skincare product. Removing waterproof eye makeup has always been a daunting task for me. After reading copious reviews and watching people rave about this heaven-sent product, I was desperate to get my hands on it. Fortunately Rita sent me a bottle of Bioderma in the mail in August. I have treasured it ever since. I finally found it on Amazon.com in the fall and intended to repurchase it as soon as I used my current bottle up. I had seen other cheaper options on the market but they were only available in Europe.
A couple weeks back I began to see advertisements from one of my favorite brands Simple. They came out with a cleansing water?! I had to try it! I was reluctant to purchase this product as I am currently on a 100 Day Beauty Spending Ban. Although this is properly cheating on my ban (I’m including skincare), I went for it. My reasoning: my skin is important to me, Simple uses clean ingredients, and I really wanted to buy it (maybe not the best reason). Honestly I am so happy that I picked this up. It was a steal at $7.99 for 6.7 fl oz/198 ml (available at Target & Walgreens). My Bioderma would cost me $24 for 250 ml. So really my purchase was saving me money in the long run? Let’s go with that.
Long story short I am a huge fan of the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water. For those of you who have never tried a cleansing water, it is a great way to remove all makeup. Apply some to a cotton pad to wipe off face makeup or allow the cleansing water to sit on your eyelids for a few seconds before wiping them clean. My preference is a cotton round that has an exfoliating side as well. I like the CVS Exfoliating Cotton Rounds. They are inexpensive and they have a gentle side (eye makeup) and an exfoliating side (face makeup). This product does not leave trace amounts of makeup on your skin unlike some gentle cleansers.
Have you tried the Simple Cleansing Micellar Water? If so, what are your thoughts?
