Surprise!

I’M ENGAGED! This past weekend Joe and I visited San Luis Obispo to celebrate three years of dating. He took me out to dinner at a restaurant overlooking Shell Beach. The food was absolutely incredible. After dinner he took me on a sunset walk and proposed. 

It was a truly magical moment that I will remember for the rest of my life. After this surreal moment we went to the drive in [one of our first dates & our one year anniversary date]. Although we spent most of the time gushing to family & friends about our engagement, we still enjoyed going to that drive in. We finished off the night by visiting the spot we first met. 

Over three years ago, my friend/roommate Kate asked me to join her to meet up with some friends. I reluctantly agree, as I was already in my pajamas [lazy college student status]. To Kate’s surprise, her friends had invited more people than she anticipated, including their friend Joe. We all spent the night laughing and playing games at Spike’s bar. When Kate and I returned home she had a huge grin on her face and confessed that she thought Joe and I would make a cute couple. She and one of Joe’s friends began setting up group activities and before long Joe and I were dating. On July 6th, 2012 our relationship became official. And the rest is history. 

Now not only do I have that memorable date in my life but I have also have a new special date: July 11th, 2015—the day Joe asked me to marry him. There will be more to come on my proposal story & engagement weekend. I am considering doing a wedding Q&A and/or bridal series on YouTube. Please let me know what you think!
