Hello Everyone!
After returning from Italy, I received a number of requests for Florence recommendations. Everyone wants to know the highlights, as many people only spend a couple days in Florence. To (hopefully) show you the best of Florence, I am sharing a one day travel guide to Florence.
8 AM: Grab a cappuccino at your closest coffee shop & head to Accademia
10 AM: Wonder over to Piazza del Duomo and venture up the stairs of the cathedral for a fantastic view of the city
12 PM: Make your way over to Mercato Centrale. Check out the local vendors downstairs then make your way upstairs to select one of their many eateries for lunch
2 PM: Stroll over the Ponte Vecchio to the Boboli Gardens; make a pit stop at Venchi’s for gelato on the way [you can’t go wrong with any flavor but I really enjoyed nougatine]
5 PM: Head back over the river & fit in a little shopping–you can find everything from Gucci to H&M
7 PM: Head to SimBIOsi for some incredible pizza [the burrata & spicy salami was my personal favorite]
9 PM: Grab a spritz to end the night at La Menagerie
Additional Info:
*Accademia gets busy early–make sure to go first thing. You can purchase tickets there or online–the standard ticket is called the “b-ticket” but EU citizens ages 18-25 can get reduced price tickets & minors (under 18) get in for free. Also the first Sunday of every month is free!
*The Boboli Gardens will only cost you 10 euros. You can purchase tickets on site and will receive museum access as well
*All the eateries I shared, with the exception of Venchi’s, have free wifi [this is very important for visitors without an international phone plan]
Are there any other cities you’d like to see a one day guide for?
