After my apple picking adventure, I wanted to try out a new recipe. I went for a crockpot apple butter recipe I pinned ages ago!
I started out by prepping my crockpot. I’ve found that as much as a love slow cooker recipes, I tend to steer away from them because I don’t want to deal with the clean up after. I picked up these crockpot liners–I’m so thankful I did. They make the clean up so much easier, which is inspiring me to seek out more crockpot recipes!
I proceeded to wash, peel, and dice a dozen of my fresh apples and popped them into my crockpot.
I added 1/2 cup of water, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of all spice & set my crockpot to low overnight.
The next morning I reset my crockpot to high and slightly propped up the lid. I let my apple butter cook down for a few more hours.
I then allowed the mixture to cool and poured it into my nutribullet. I wanted the apple butter to be smooth and free from any chunks. The original recipe supposedly made just over a pint. I came out with two full pints and half of an 8 oz mason jar (total of 36 oz). This apple butter should last a while in the fridge and is excellent on toast!
