Baking season is upon us! It’s time to bust out your favorite Christmas recipes. I’ve been enjoying getting into the kitchen recently. I love baking cookies, cinnamon rolls, bread and more over the holidays. I shared what I was baking last year. It seems like a fun thing to do this year as well. I hope these Christmas recipes give you some inspiration for your holiday baking.
Christmas Recipes: Best Holiday Sweets 2021
I made these last year and they are the best sugar cookies I’ve ever had. These will definitely be my go to sugar cookies from now on. I think I’ll make this icing for decorating them next time I make a batch. The video is really helpful for tips.
I baked up a batch of these the other day and they are delicious. They are the perfect salty sweet combination. These cookies include m&ms (holiday, of course), oats, pretzels, and chocolate chips. They are soft inside and chewy on the edges. Make sure to let them cool on the tray for the best results.
Salted Milk Chocolate and Peanut Butter Blondies
For some easy holiday baking, these look fantastic. Chocolate and peanut butter is my all time favorite combination so these are right up my alley. Half Baked Harvest has taught me to add flaked sea salt on top of most desserts and it makes a huge difference. I’m making these for my Christmas cookie box so I’ll share the results on Instagram.
I had to include classic gingerbread cookies. I haven’t made these in a few years so I’m excited to whip up a batch and decorate them. My mom is coming over on the 23rd to make gingerbread cookies together. I’m envisioning watching Elf while decorating these. It’s a great holiday afternoon activity.
This is the best chocolate mousse I’ve ever had! I stumbled across this recipe when I picked up baking chocolate from a local shop. This recipe is incredibly creamy and smooth. He also created a video making the recipe. It’s really helpful! It tastes best when you let it chill overnight. I also highly recommend homemade whipped cream. For my whipped cream, I use heavy cream, sprinkle of sugar and splash of vanilla. This dessert would be a great option to make for a dinner party too.
Salted Peanut Butter Cookies [gluten free, dairy free]
My brother in law is allergic to gluten and dairy. I want to make sure he has an option from the Christmas cookie box. I’ve made these peanut butter cookies a couple times and they turned out great. It’s a very simple and quick recipe. I discovered these cookies when visiting Ovenly in New York City. Luckily the recipe available on their website. I also appreciate that this recipe doesn’t require many ingredients. In fact, you likely already have all of these in your pantry!
I’m considering make these cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning. This recipe includes coffee and chocolate too. I’m not sure if I want to make my rolls mocha but I definitely want brown butter in my frosting. This recipe is great because you can prep most of it the night before and let the dough rise in the fridge overnight. Cinnamon rolls are one of my favorite things so I’m excited to test out this recipe.
I hope these Christmas recipes inspire you to get in the kitchen this holiday season. Happy Holidays!
