Welcome back to my annual year in review. While 2021 was anything but normal, this year felt promising. I know we’re still in the midst of tragedy but I feel like we are learning and evolving. This is the fourth year I’ve reflected on my past year (check out 2020, 2019 and 2018).
MILESTONES
- Joe and I gave our bedroom a makeover
- I visited Maui for the first time in ten years in May
- Joe and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary in June

- I transferred to a new team (at my 9-5) in August
- I modeled for the first time (check out La Bella Headbands!)
- I doubled my income from Modern Mollie (Blog, YouTube, and Instagram)
- I partnered with some amazing brands (Dryel, Arm & Hammer, Late July, and AdoreMe)
TRAVEL
Thankfully I was able to travel a bit more this year. It was wonderful! We were fortunate enough to hop on a plane for two trips this year: Maui and New York City. We also visited Yosemite for my first time.
Maui
In May, Joe and I finally made it to Maui. We were supposed to go in May 2020 for my 30th birthday so we were grateful we could go for my 31st. I wrote several posts on my trip: what to do + where to eat, travel logistics, and hotel review. I also shared a travel guide video. It was a wonderful trip!
Yosemite
I haven’t spent time in Yosemite so it was treat to visit this year. Joe and I stayed in an airstream, just outside of the park. As a non-camper, this was the perfect option for me. I absolutely want to go back. If you’re interested, I have a travel guide and airstream review.
New York City
In October, we made it to New York City for the first time in nearly two years. It was magical being back. We were there in late October so there was lots of fun fall decor to check out on the Upper East Side. We visited some of our favorite spots and restaurants, like Alice’s Tea Cup and Comedy Cellar. All in all, it was a delightful trip.
What’s Coming Up In 2022?
I hope things continue to improve in the world! I’d love to plan more travel. Joe and I were invited to several weddings. My ideal scenario is to turn some of those weddings into a week long trip. We’d also love to make it to the Bahamas or Europe. We have some more home project in store. Stay tuned for something fun next month! If you want to stay up-to-date, please follow along on Instagram.
