This was our fifth year in a row visiting Incline Village in Lake Tahoe. I don't know how I don't already have an Incline Village travel guide so here we go. I'm excited to share my favorite places to eat and what to do in Lake Tahoe. Let's get into it!

INCLINE VILLAGE TRAVEL GUIDE

Where To Stay

This is a little tricky because we've never stayed at a hotel or resort in Tahoe. We're grateful that we always get to stay at Joe's aunt and uncle's cabin. However, from spending time in the area, the hotel that peaks my interest the most is the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort. This scenic resort is waterfront with multiple restaurants and a spa. We've dined at one of their restaurants a couple times (more on that later). I like that they, not only, have standard rooms but also suites and cabins. This would be a great option for a family or group as well! If you're a rewards person, rooms start at 29K points/night, which feels really reasonable for this gorgeous property.

Transportation

We always drive up to Lake Tahoe. It's about a four hour drive from San Jose (three, if you're going to South Lake Tahoe). It's important to us to have our beach gear and be able to easily get around town.

If you're traveling from further away, you can easily fly into the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. It's about a 30-40 minute drive, possibly longer in the winter (depending on snow conditions). Ride sharing apps, such as Lyft and Uber, are available in the Lake Tahoe area.

You can also rent bikes to get around town. We always see tons of people on regular bikes and electric bikes throughout Lake Tahoe. My in laws recently started bringing their e-bikes up with them.

What to do in Incline Village in summer

What To Do

Rent Jet Skis: Pictured above - our my in laws when we rented jet skis a few years back. There are a number of water sports rental shops in town. It's such a blast to get out on the water and enjoy the lake.

Hike Along The Lake: There's a beautiful new(ish) path called the Tahoe East Shore Trail. We love walking along the water - the views are breathtaking. We park near Tunnel Creek Cafe (there's paid parking available) and you can walk all the way to Sand Harbor Beach.

Relax On The Beach: The best part of Lake Tahoe: the beaches! My favorites are Sand Harbor, Incline Beach (private) and Zephyr Cove.

Try Out A Clear Kayak: This is more of an aspirational one! I've seen all the Pinterest photos of clear bottom kayaks. I love kayaking so this feels like a must in my book.

Bike Around Town: As mentioned above, biking is a great way to get around. There are plenty of bike rental shops in town. My suggestion? Grab breakfast at Tunnel Creek Cafe, rent bikes from Flume Trail Bikes and bike along the Tahoe East Shore Trail.

Stand Up Paddle Board: I've only tried this once but am dying to go again.

Lone Eagle Grille

Where To Eat

Lone Eagle Grille: We've dined here twice and loved it both times. This is located on the Hyatt property, right along the lake. We've only been for dinner but lunch looks great too. Everything is delicious and they have excellent cocktails. Also, the desserts are top notch. Try the Baked Tahoe (pictured above) or chocolate mousse.

Bite Restaurant: This upscale American tapas restaurant is a great option for groups. The mac and cheese is my favorite but honestly, everything is good. The cocktails are worth a try too!

Mountain High Sandwich Co: This deli is our go to for sandwiches to bring to the beach. Joe always get the BBQ tri tip sandwiches. They have a range of baked goods, chips and drinks too. They even have kombucha on tap as well.

Tunnel Creek Cafe

FUMO Cafe

Tunnel Creek Cafe: This is a fun stop for breakfast and coffee. We like to fuel up here before hiking. There's plenty of parking & seating and the prices are right. Last time we visited, I noticed signs for Saturday music and pizza events throughout the summer.

FUMO Cafe: We tried this out for the first time on our last trip. It was good but crowded! I recommend making a reservation. They have a huge selection for breakfast. Joe really enjoyed the farmer's market omelette.

Susie Scoops: Looking for something sweet? Try out Susie Scoops! It's a quaint little ice cream shop, located next to Starbucks. They have a ton of flavors and dipped cone options. You can even get smoothies and boba too.
