I first discovered vision boards a few years ago. The previous year had been really rough and creating a vision board felt like the perfect fresh start. I gathered my supplies with my best friend and made an afternoon of it. As we’re still near the beginning of the year (and you can also make one literally whenever), I figured I’d share my tips!

Physical Vision Boards
Recently I chose to make a physical vision board. I’d made large vision boards in the past – I used to make mine on a canvas with magazine clippings and modge podge. This year I didn’t want to create something as big (or feel the need to hang it) so I opted to include mine in my planner. I have an Erin Condren planner, which comes with a blank page at the start of every month and several at the end. I still wanted to use magazines (over printing images). I stopped subscribing to magazines years ago so I stopped by Target to pick a couple up. I went with Good Housekeeping and Real Simple – my themes are self-care and entrepreneurship.
When I sat down to create my vision board, I made myself a cup of tea and turned on the fire. I flipped through my magazines with The Bachelor on in the background. I laid out my images and paired down to what I most preferred so I could fit everything on one page. I used this glue pen to adhere my clippings. I allowed it to dry overnight before closing my planner. If you would like your own planner, you can get $10 off your planner here!

Virtual Vision Boards
Virtual vision boards are another great option. Whether you want to minimize extra work/supplies or want to continually add to your board throughout the year, this might work well for you. I created mine a while back. I’ve included vacations and home inspiration. Joe & I want to visit Thailand this year. I really want to go to an elephant sanctuary so I’ve been searching for appropriate pins! This board is my running goals list.
I hope this post inspires you to create your own vision board!
