It’s fall! Well sort of. Fall doesn’t officially start until September 22nd but I’ve already decorated and picked apples. It’s fall in my book. I’ve never been apple picking in the Bay Area. I did a quick Yelp search and found Clearview Orchards in Watsonville (near Santa Cruz). Watsonville is only about 45 minutes from us in San Jose. Make it a day trip by stopping by Aptos or Capitola on the way home. If you need recommendations for what else to do in the area, DM me on Instagram.

TIPS FOR APPLE PICKING IN WATSONVILLE
- Visit early in the season for the biggest selection of apples
- Wear comfortable shoes (the orchard has some hills)
- Check for rotten spots before picking (it happens with organic farms)
- Pick out some treats to make with your apples (I have a recipe board)
Once we got home, we had a cozy fall night in with Halloween cookies, DIY pumpkin face mask, and Hocus Pocus. I hope this helped you find some ideas for apple picking in the Bay Area! If you’d like more fun fall ideas, check out this fall section of Modern Mollie.
