We all need a little fun right now. With the seasons changing, it’s time for some fall romance. Joe and I love having regular dates and getting outside whenever possible. It only feels appropriate to share my fall date ideas 2020.
FALL DATE IDEAS
- Have a picnic at a park: I had to include this because these photos were taken at the Palace of the Fine Arts in San Francisco. While we didn’t have a picnic while we were there, we did see several families who were enjoying lunch. We also picked up lunch after our shoot and ate in Alamo Square, facing the Painted Ladies.
- Plan a cozy movie night in: gather up your softest blankets and pillows, make your favorite snacks and pick a fun movie or two. You can set the mood with lighting and make a fire (if available to you). Joe and I love to make popcorn on the stove. My favorite cozy fall drink is apple cider, brewed with cinnamon sticks (of course).
- Cook together: we may not be able to go to a cooking class in person but we can find virtual experiences. There are tons of tutorials on YouTube and I’ve heard great things about Airbnb experiences and Sur La Table. Or just cook an old favorite recipe.
- Visit a pumpkin patch: tis the season for all things pumpkin š
- Try a local coffee shop: I’ve enjoyed trying local coffee shops recently. It’s been easier to get parking downtown with less people out and about. Also, I love supporting small businesses. If you’re in the San Jose area, check out Academic Coffee, Voyager Craft Coffee and Voltaire Coffee.
- Head to a drive in: highly recommend if you have one in your area. You may even find some fun Halloween movies at this time of year. If you’re in the Bay Area, West Wind has drive ins in San Jose and Concord.
- Take a scenic drive: with the leaves changing, this is the perfect time to go for a drive. We don’t really have much fall foliage in the Bay Area but I’m hoping to hunt for the honey bears in San Francisco soon.
- Have a weekend getaway: head away for the weekend! I love getting an airbnb or VRBO a few hours away for a quick trip. My favorite spots in my area are: Lake Tahoe, San Luis Obispo, and Carmel.
- Wine taste: I’m craving a trip to Napa. These are my favorite wineries in Napa.
- Reconnect with nature: go for a hike or walk. Getting outside for fresh air and long talk is always a nice date.
