Leggings are my favorite thing to wear but it’s also hard to find the perfect ones! Since my body has changed and I’ve become plus size, I’ve had trouble finding leggings I love. My body is apple shaped – I hold more of my weight in my stomach. I’m definitely all about the high waist leggings, like a lot of you. I have six different options I’ve really put to the test.
PLUS SIZE LEGGINGS
Athleta Ultimate Stash Pocket 7/8 Tight (Size Range: XXS-2X & 1X-3X; also in tall & petite): These are great for a medium to heavy impact workout. Athleta has great products and I’m glad they now have extended sizing. Also, I love these but most sizes are currently out of stock.
Zella Live In High Waist Leggings (Size Range: XXS – XXL & 1X-3X): I’ve owned at least one pair of these leggings at a time for the past few years. I first discovered them in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in 2017. Now they are my go to repurchase! They hold up really well – usually around two years with many washes. I love the high waist and compression. They are perfect for working out or running errands. Here is the plus size version and straight sized version.
Girlfriend Collective Moon High-Rise Pocket Legging (Size Range: XXS – 6X; two inseam options): Not only do they make great clothes but I love their sustainability efforts. Their leggings are made from recycled water bottles. How cool! They are high waisted, have compression and have pockets. I find they stay up well overall. I occasionally find myself pulling them up a little but not an excessive amount. Bonus: their sports bras are amazing!
Fabletics High-Waisted PowerHold 7/8 Leggings (Size Range: XXS-XXL & 1X-4X): Fabletics is one of my go-to places for athleisure. They have a wide range of options for 1X-4X. They are constantly changing their styles so if you see something you like, grab it! Fabletics has a VIP membership, which significantly reduces prices. Nike Women’s Cropped Running Tights (Size Range: XS-3X): I’ve been a big fan of Nike’s dri-fit technology for years. They are fitted but stretchy. The biggest plus for me is their internal elastic drawcord, which allows you to adjust the fit. I also love their sports bras and joggers.
Core 10 Women’s ‘Build Your Own’ Flashflex Run Capri Legging (Size Range: XS-3X, available in high waist and medium waist): I love these capris because they are breathable and lightweight. They adjust to your size with the drawstring waist. They are made of Nylon and Spanx. Great option for a higher impact activity!
