Athleta: Honest Brand Review
I've shopped at Athleta for many years so spoiler review: I'm a fan. I wanted to share a formal review so you could see what pieces I've tried, what I think about their fit and how they can improve. If you're unfamiliar, Athleta is an athletic brand, with the mission to ignite limitless potential of all women and girls. Athleta was originally founded as an independent company in 1998. In 2008, Gap acquired Athleta; they also own Old Navy and Banana Republic. There are currently 160+ physical stores, as well as a large online presence.

What I've Tried
Tops
- Conscious Crop: This top is comfortable and provides good coverage and support.
- Nighttime Bliss Sleep Cami: This sleep top is a dream. I own this in two colors and it's my go to - I pretty much wear it nightly. It's light and airy. Perfect for warm sleepers.
Bottoms
- Salutation Jogger: These are my all time favorite joggers!
- Ultra High Rise Elation Tight: These leggings are incredibly comfortable. I'm a big fan of the high rise. The fabric is buttery soft yet they stay in place. I love the way they look and feel. One of my favorites from Athleta.
- Ace Tennis Skort: This lightweight, easy breezy skort is perfect in the summer. Obviously it's good for tennis but for non tennis players, I enjoy this skort for a walk on the beach.
- Cabo Linen Short: I have these in chambray blue and they are the best vacation shorts. I got these for Maui a couple years ago. They are great to throw on during the warmer months. I really want the linen wide leg pants for an upcoming trip!
- Nighttime Bliss Sleep Short: These are so good that I asked for another pair for Christmas. I have them in blue star and deep burgundy. Both options are stunning. If you're a warm sleeper, these will be a dream for you.
- Salutation Stash Short: While these are soft and I love the color (I have Opaque Lilac), they aren't my favorite bike shorts. I got the 5" version and I may have been better off with 7" shorts. I do appreciate that they have pockets though!
Accessories
- Excursion Waistbag: This was one of my favorite purchases last year. I was worried I'd never use this when I picked it up but I use almost every day. It's ideal for running errands, hitting the pilates studio or taking a walk. I can vouch that it's size friendly. I can comfortably wear it crossbody or around my waist. This bag has tons of pockets and is high quality.
- Megababe Thigh Rescue: Athleta now carries some Megababe products! Their thigh rescue is the absolute best in warmer months.
- Face Masks: I've had these face masks for a couple years and they've held up great.
What I'd Like To Try
Tops
- Salutation Henley Top: I love a good henley and this looks so comfortable.
- Salutation Half Zip: This looks like a great staple.
- Pranayama Restore Wrap: How perfect for travel.
Bottoms
- Cabo Linen Wide Leg Pant: I've been eyeing these pants for a while. I already own the shorts version and as mentioned above, I love them. I want to pick these up for my summer travels.
- Elation Flare Pant: These look so comfortable and I haven't owned flare pants in ages.
Pros
Cons
Verdict
Overall, I'm a big fan. I love the sizing consistency. I always know I'm a 2X in bottoms! However, when it comes to tops, I wish they had a larger size or two. Unfortunately, the 3X is often a bit snug on my chest. I'd love to see Athleta expand to a 5X or 6X so more people could shop there. Will I continue to shop at Athleta? Absolutely! This is a brand I'd love to work with on Modern Mollie and will continue to support.
